We have had a very sporty week this week learning about different athletic events. Inside we have been making posters advertising Sports Day, making collage medals and reading information about the World Para Athletics Championships which are being held in London this year.
Outside we have been learning about mini-beasts, printing handprint flowers and drawing observational drawings of mini-beasts.
We had two very successful athletic competitions of our own on Sports Day. The children (and the staff) had a wonderful time racing in the running race, the egg and spoon, the obstacle race and the team relay race. Thank you to those who came and watched.
Cookery club made Eton Mess this week- inspired by Wimbledon perhaps!
We are continuing phonics groups next week. Please support your child’s learning by going over the Set 1 and 2 sounds with them at home over the holidays and encourage lots of reading.
We have been learning about ordinal numbers. Can your child use ordinal numbers in their races- 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.?
Please keep your child (and any younger children) with you before and after school. Could you also ensure you close school gates behind you if you are the last person to leave.
Punctuality – Please arrive at school on time.
Spare Clothes and PE kits: No need for PE kits next week but spare clothes are helpful. We will be sending everything home at the end of term.
Please bring in a named carrier bag on Thursday for children to empty their drawers!
Reading Books We will be collecting in reading books next week. If your child’s reading day is on Friday please bring in book bags on Thursday (20th). Thank you.
End of term – Please remember to pick up your child at 1.30pm on Friday 21st July.
Have a nice weekend!
