Spring has sprung and we have been learning about the changes we might observe in spring time. We have been planting cress seeds and watching them grow, seeing how daffodils change as they bloom and printing and making collages of spring scenes. We have been talking about eggs, describing and comparing different types of eggs and learning about where eggs come from. Mrs Collins delivered a brilliant Collective Worship about diversity, looking at how eggs can be different on the outside but the same on the inside.
Outside we have been planting plants, making up fantasy stories and observing tadpoles and other pond life.
Cookery club made omelettes using Scarlott’s chicken’s eggs.
Thank you for your support with the Book Fair, we have raised lots of money for books for our school!
Phonics is going well. We are continually assessing children to ensure that they are getting personalised provision.
This week we have been learning to add up small amounts of money. Can your child make a given amount using coins? E.g. Can you make 8p?
Next week’s Learning Journey child will be Claudia.
Please keep your child (and any younger children) with you before and after school.
Please make sure your child’s clothes (including hats, gloves, Forest clothes, PE kits etc.) are named.
Please enquire at the office if you are interested in finding out more information about our wrap around care (Owl Club).
Please make sure your child has a spare clothes bag at school just in case we need to change them for any reason (e.g. being soaked in the water/ getting muddy in the mud kitchen / accidents or vomit).
We will be continuing with our work on Spring time. We will be making up our own stories because we are awesome story tellers. Please can you have a go at telling stories together at home- think about what will happen beforehand then use story sentences.
Forest School Group 2- thank you to parents who have already signed up to help.
Red Nose Day – Friday 24th March – children may wear their red noses if they wish. It’d be helpful if they were named please. Children can also bring in 50p to buy a red snack which cookery club will provide. Money in a named envelope please. Proceeds will go to Children in Need.
Have a great weekend!
