We have had another lovely week back at school. Inside we have been cooking delicious Russian tea cakes and Russian bread, weaving paper for a display on the story of Baboushka and finding out about different habitats. Some children have made their own books too! We also went to the hall for our very first PE lesson and played a game of ‘Spots’.
Mrs Nixon’s phonics group have brought home their writing books to practice their writing at home. Please try to write with your child every week. Instructions on how to use these books are inside the front cover. Miss Persaud’s group will be bringing home their writing packs next week.
Outside we have been painting catkins from our observations, using streamers to make patterns on the very blustery days and printing with different shapes.
Phonics & Maths:
In Phonics we have been working towards our personalised targets.
In Maths we have been learning to count, recognise and order teen numbers. We have been learning to form numbers correctly and write numbers up to 20, fill in missing numbers in a number line up to 20 and playing noughts and crosses with grids of teen numbers. Can your child recognise teen numbers and say how many tens and little ones are in each one?
PE will be on Monday morning- please remember your PE kit.
Next week’s Learning Journeys will be Bea, Teddy and Lucas.
PE – Please make sure your child has NAMED a pair of black shorts and a white t-shirt in a named drawstring bag on their peg. Thank you to those who have already done this! We will keep PE kits in school until Easter when they might need a wash!
Forest School Group 2 on Tuesday 23rd January. Unfortunately Group 1 in the afternoon could not go to the Forest as no parent helpers were able to sign up for this session. The original Forest Rota for this term blew away during the week! If you are able to help, please can you come and sign up on the board again. Thank you!
For your child’s safety and the safety of others, please keep your children with you in our outdoor area and in the playground before and after school.
Have a lovely weekend.
