What a fab fairy tale week. Your children are becoming expert story tellers and story writers! We have spent lots of time making up our own versions of traditional tales as well as making up our own stories. Inside we have been making up magic potions, creating castle models and observing Jack’s magic beans grow. Outside we have been ordering Jack’s magic beans, writing fairy tales and creating fairy tale scenes.
We have enjoyed meeting the Swedish children and their teachers and finding out about where Sweden is.
Phonics is going well. We are continually assessing children to ensure that they are getting personalised provision.
This week we have been learning to sequence the days of the week and tell the time using analogue clocks and digital clocks to recognise o’clock. Can your child recall significant times in their day (e.g what time they get up / go to school / have tea & go to bed)?
Next week’s Learning Journeys will be Lincoln, Beau, Alex, Fenton and Imogen.
Please keep your child (and any younger children) with you before and after school. Could you also ensure you close school gates behind you if you are the last person to leave.
Please enquire at the office if you are interested in finding out more information Owl Club.
Please make sure your child has a spare clothes bag at school just in case we need to change them for any reason (e.g. being soaked in the water/ getting muddy in the mud kitchen / accidents or vomit).
Indoor or Outdoor PE on Mondays. Please make sure your child has a tracksuit top and bottoms and a pair of trainers as well as their black shorts and white t-shirt.
Thank you for observing our no nuts policy for packed lunches.
Headlice and nits reported in boys and girls. Please check your child’s hair.
FOHNs Ladies Night Tonight – £5 – 7.30pm in the Study Centre – it’d be great to see you there. We will be taking our Swedish teachers.
Forest School Group 2 on Tuesday. We still need two parent helpers for the afternoon group. Thanks to those who have signed up to help for the morning.
Next week will be continuing our work on fairy tales.
We will finish at normal time on Friday for half term. The children’s first day back to school will be Tuesday 6th June. There is no forest on the first day back.
Enjoy your weekend.
