The children have informed us that this week marked the first days of Spring – can’t you tell?! Inside we have been learning about why we celebrate Easter and listening to stories about the special things that Jesus did when he was here on Earth. We have been making collage crosses, creating stained glass window egg shapes and sharing out Easter eggs fairly with our friends. In cookery we made Hot Cross Cookies.
Outside we have been making Easter egg hangings, matching sets of pompoms into the correct numbered tray and writing numbers.
We really enjoyed our whole school Easter Service this week which Miss Persaud organised.
Phonics & Maths:
In Phonics we have assessed the children. Please keep an eye out for your child’s achievements and targets in the book bags next week. We really appreciate the support your children receive at home working towards their reading and writing targets.
We will be collecting reading books next week for a thorough sort through over the holidays!
In Maths this week we have been learning to add and subtract numbers up to ten and write addition sentences. Can your child think of more than one way to add up to ten?
PE will be on Monday morning- thank you to those who have provided a PE kit for their child. Our May Day dance is choreographed so now we need to learn it! Children will be bringing their PE kits home next week for a little wash over half term.
Please bring a large bag into school on Wednesday for your child to bring home their work and models.
End of term is on Thursday 29th March at 1.30pm. Please email the school office if you need to book Owl Club on the last day of term, which will be available until 4.30pm
We have now finished Learning Journeys for the year. Your child will receive an end of year report in the Summer Term.
We will be doing PE on the first day back after Easter – please make sure your child has their kit!
Forest School information will be available ASAP.
FOHNS movie night tomorrow at school. See poster outside main gate for details.
We will be getting rid of some of our lost property over the holidays- please take this opportunity to go through our box and take home things that might belong to you. We’re still getting a lot of unnamed clothing.
Please help us to start our day calmly by keeping your child with you before & after school.
We will not issue a newsletter next week so we’d like to take the opportunity to wish you all a happy Easter and a lovely holiday.
Please check book bags next week for Phonics and Technology homework sheets to work on over the holidays.
Summer Term begins Monday 16th April.
