We have had a very healthy week this week thinking about what makes us healthy. Inside we have been timing ourselves doing different exercises (e.g. how many star jumps can we do in a minute?), making collages of a healthy dinner plate and preparing salt dough foods for our Healthy Eating Café role play area.
Outside we have been printing pictures, making kites and making a beautiful new Reception birthday cake.
In Friday cookery class the children made the salt dough for the salt dough food items.
Some children took the opportunity today to revisit the prayer space which finishes this week.
Phonics is going well. We are continually assessing children to ensure that they are getting personalised provision.
This week we have been learning to use the correct mathematical names for 3d shapes, discussing their properties and thinking of places we might see these shapes. Can your child find a cylinder, cuboid, triangle prism and cone shape in the supermarket or at home?
Next week’s Learning Journey children will be Scarlott, Josh and Emily.
Please keep your child (and any younger children) with you before and after school.
Please make sure your child’s clothes (including hats, gloves, Forest clothes, PE kits etc.) are named.
Please enquire at the office if you are interested in finding out more information about our wrap around care (Owl Club).
If children would like to do show and tell we ask that they write, draw and stick photographs onto a WOW sheet or bring in something they have made. Ideas for WOW sheets include news from home or learning they’ve done outside of school to support our curriculum. This minimises the amount of belongings from home coming in and getting lost.
World Book Day – Thursday 2nd March – please dress up as your favourite book character and bring the book in (named please).
Forest School Group 1 on Tuesday – thank you for parents who have already signed up to help.
PE on Monday.
We will be continuing to learn about what keeps us fit and healthy.
Have a great weekend!
