We have thoroughly enjoyed our book week this week focussing on ‘Dear Zoo’ by Rod Campbell. Inside we have been making close observations of animals, creating our own flap book pictures and writing to the zoo about the animals we would like.
Outside we have been labelling animals and their body parts, thinking about contrasting environments and habitats and painting animal pictures.
Mrs Collins delivered a fantastic Collective Worship on our Owl Value of the month, Healthy Living. She talked about keeping our bodies and minds healthy, and how Jesus taught us to look after ourselves and each other. Can your child remember which vegetable had eyes? An ear? A heart? And a hand?
Phonics & Maths:
In Phonics we have had a small reshuffle of groups and children are continuing to work towards their personalised targets.
In Maths this week we have been learning to recognise numbers to 20 in and out of order and say what is one more and one less than a given number to 20. Can your child say what is 1 more or less than a given number?
