We have had a very fruity week this week thinking about the fruit we like to eat. Inside we have been tasting different fruits on our fruit skewers, playing matching pairs with fruit picture cards, describing different types of fruit and learning how to use our Word Wall.
Outside we have been harvesting our sunflowers and looking at the different parts of a sunflower. We have managed to save some seeds to feed the birds with over the winter and we’re keeping some to plant in the spring!
A gold star to everyone who supported our non-school uniform day today. We raised lots of money and awareness for the Children’s Cancer charity.
We have said goodbye to Sue in the kitchen and made her a lovely card.
Phonics & Maths:
In Phonics we have learnt our new sounds n, p, g and o. We continue to revise our previous sounds. Thank you for supporting your child with these at home.
In Maths we have been creating repeating patterns on our fruit skewers, learning to recognise numbers to 20 and subitise numerals on a dice. Can your child recognise the dice numbers without counting the spots each time?
We will be focusing on vegetables and talking about Harvest.
Next week’s Learning Journey children will be Sophie and Isabelle.
Headlice reported in boys and girls. Please check your child’s hair.
Forest School for Group 1 on Tuesday. We currently have no helpers for the morning group- we can’t run Forest School without 2 volunteers for each session. Please sign up on the board if you can help.
Please keep younger children with you in our outdoor area.
Thank you for keeping clear of the gate in the mornings- it’s really helping.
