We have had another busy week. Inside we have been finding out about African animals in the story of Handa’s Surprise, painting fruit in Handa’s basket and making Kenyan flags from Handa’s country.
Outside we have been making fairy gardens using autumnal natural objects, counting with conkers and making patterns with objects. Miss Mayall told us she had put jelly in the tuff tray but we think a ‘monster’ came into the garden overnight and sneezed all over everything!!
Mrs Wright covered for Miss Persaud on Tuesday morning. Mrs Lambourne covered for Miss Persaud on Friday.
Miss Persaud cooked apple crumble with the Learning Journey children.
Phonics & Maths:
In Phonics we have learnt the sounds n, p, and g as well as practising the previous sounds at speed. Thank you for helping your child with these at home.
In Maths we have been learning to sequence the days of the week and thinking about what we do at different times of the day. Can your child remember what they do in the morning, afternoon and evening? Do they know what time they go to bed?
We will be thinking about the Harvest and learning the song: Oats & Beans & Barley Grow.
Next week’s Learning Journey children will be Bella, Florence, Una and George.
Forest Group 1 enjoyed a session on the school field.
Forest School for Group 2 on Tuesday. Thank you to parents who have signed up to help already. Mrs Macdonald can only take the children if she has two Parent helpers per session. Please sign up on the noticeboard if you are available. Children going to the Forest DO NOT need to wear school uniform but please can they bring in a pair of spare shoes in a plastic bag.
Our supply of spare clothes has run very low recently. Please return any borrowed items ASAP. Please also make sure your child has a named spare clothes bag in school. Thank you.
For health and safety reasons please keep your children with you when waiting on the main playground and keep younger children with you in our outdoor area.
In the mornings please can we ask you to say goodbye to your child at the classroom door so that we can help them settle into the daily routine and start the school day on time. If you have any concerns please let us know. Thank you.
Have a good weekend.
