Reception Times 6 July 2018

We have had another hot and hectic week! On Monday we had a great time showing off our races on our sports afternoon. Thank you very much for your support and words of gratitude and appreciation.
On Tuesday Group 2 thoroughly enjoyed themselves during their all day Forest experience. This week marks the end of PE and Forest groups for the school year. Thank you very much to the Forest schools volunteers who have given up their time to help.
On Wednesday morning Mrs Wright covered for Miss Persaud.
Miss Mayall, our new Reception teacher came to visit on Thursday.
Work sharing afternoon on Friday 1.30-3pm.

Inside we have been painting and colouring under sea creatures. Outside we have been painting the life cycle of a butterfly.

Phonics & Maths:
In Phonics we are working towards children’s individual targets.
In Maths we have been consolidating our knowledge of number bonds to ten. Can your child tell you about the Farmer Pete song?!

Next week:

Wednesday 11th July 9.30pm: whole-school Sports day.
Thursday 12th July 2.45-3.10pm: transition meeting for the parents/carers of the new Reception class in September. This will be held in the Reception classroom. The present Reception class can be picked up at 3.10pm in the usual place.

We strongly recommend you put the once a day sun cream on your child in the morning before school, and that they bring in a named sun hat, as the good weather continues.

We will be collecting in the reading books and reading record books next week. Please make sure they are in the book bag.

We hope to see you at the FOHNS family BBQ on the school field Friday 6th July 3.15-6.30pm There will be lots of games, BBQ food, ice cream, activities on the new track, raffle and licenced bar.
Thank you for selling the raffle tickets in support of this event.

The Summer reading challenge was launched by the Village Library in assembly-to celebrate the 80th birthday of the Beano and called the Mischief Makers! The challenge is to read 6 books over the summer holidays. It runs from the 14th July-15th Sept.

Please keep children with you on the playground before and after school.

Have a great weekend and look after yourselves in the hot weather.
