As the name would suggest, Friends Of Hook Norton School (FOHNS) is a group of volunteers who pool together their time and resources to raise funds and for the benefit of the school. Over the years it’s fundraised for a variety of things – the minibus, staging, playground equipment including the Foundation Stage and adventure playground, the bike sheds, the wild garden, maths scheme, new furniture, the Daily Mile running track, and this website!
The annual contribution FOHNS makes is ever more important in times of budget cuts and we are only able to do this with the continued support of parents and members of the community.
But it’s not just about raising money. It’s about providing a range of entertainment for the children, their parents and villagers – fun afternoons and evening events across a range of budgets. We have a programme of events covering the entire academic year so keep an eye out for posters around the village, in the newsletter and on our noticeboard. FOHNS is also on Facebook – www.facebook.com/FriendsHNS.
Any help, however little, is greatly appreciated. Everyone is welcome to the FOHNS AGM which takes place every September at the beginning of the academic year. If you’d like to get involved either as a committee member, at one off events or have any suggestions, please drop a note into the Suggestions Box in the school reception area.
Thank you very much for your support.
