FOHNS
Who are FOHNS?
FOHNS stands for the ‘Friends of Hook Norton School’. It is a group of volunteers consisting of parents, friends and staff members who work enthusiastically to raise funds to support and enrich our children's education. The funds are raised through organising social events and other fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
In recent years we have raised circa £25,000 p/a - every single penny of this is well spent.
What have FOHNS donated to the school?
Thanks to the hard work of FOHNS, over the past few years we have been able to update our KS1 library, purchase a new adventure playground, purchase ‘The Cabin’, add facilities to ‘The Nest’ and ‘The Den’, purchase new classroom furniture and fulfill individual teacher ‘wish lists’.
A significant update to our pupils' ICT facilities will soon be possible thanks to funding from FOHNS.
How can I get involved?
FOHNS are always looking for new volunteers. The events organised can only take place if they have the people power to do so. Equally, specific areas of expertise are always warmly welcomed.
This might mean volunteering at a school disco or running a stall at the Summer Fete. You might feel more comfortable offering to write pitches for Grants or requesting raffle prizes. Perhaps you really enjoy baking and would like to offer cakes for events or instead are confident at designing posters to assist with the marketing.
Any offer to help, no matter how small, will be gratefully received.
Please contact fohns2020@gmail.com to get in touch.
All events are promoted on their Facebook page. Please consider following them and sharing posts were possible.
